This introduces you to the principles and concepts of physiotherapy practice. The course is composed of three units; physiotherapy ethics of practice, introduction to concepts and principles of physiotherapy practice, goniometry and manual muscle testing. The course will be taught partly as theory and the the big proportion of hours will be practical. This course forms the foundation of your future practice because it contains the basic skills that a physiotherapist need for daily management of patients/clients. The learner is expected to first acquaint himself/herself with the course/module learning/teaching guidelines; this will help him/her to know what content he/she should expect to cover in this course.

The aim of this module is to enable the student understand anatomy and Physiology of muscles, bones and joints of the human body. Musculoskeletal Anatomy and physiology exposes students to interactive gross anatomy and physiology. The anatomy learning sessions include observing actual dissections in the UR anatomy laboratories revealing and explaining the human anatomy relevant for clinical cases.
