Trimester 1

The primary aim of this module is to make students gain a detailed understanding of how the investment process works to maximize the investor’s returns, to make investment goals and objectives within a risk tolerance. This module makes investing less difficult, by clearly explaining the risk and return concepts, various investment terms; by elucidating the possible investment alternatives; and by discussing many of the techniques professional use to value assets/securities and to conduct diversified portfolios that increase investor’s chance of making informed decisions.

 

Course image Management of Financial Services
Trimester 1

This module aims at equipping students with understanding of financial services that are offered in a financial system, with a clear emphasis on sources, costs and risks, and uses of organizational funds. The module describes the financial systems and subsequent financial services that may help companies decide on proper allocation of resources. It goes on to evaluate the financial health of companies and possible options for business restructuring. Besides, the module introduces to students alternative sources of finance such as venture capital, factoring , lease financing, etc.

Course image Computer applications in Finance
Trimester 1

This module introduces students to a range of Software application used in Finance such as Excel functions. Throughout this module, students will be equipped with adequate skills to build financial formulas; investment formulas; working with bonds; building discount formulas and understanding their applicability and role through practical exercises and case studies about financial sector in Rwanda/ around the world.
