This module provides a comprehensive foundation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), essential for students to become active lifelong learners in a technology-intensive environment. The module covers ICT fundamentals including an introduction to ICT, basic and advanced applications of MS Office/OpenOffice (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and the use of the internet for research, including electronic resources, Open Educational Resources (OERs), MOOCs, and digital libraries.

Key topics also encompass ethical considerations such as plagiarism, copyright, and privacy; data security; and the exploration of emerging trends like collaborative tools including social media and cloud services. Practical components focus on the application of ICT in various subjects and professional scenarios, aiming to enhance problem-solving skills, adaptability to technological advancements, and the ability to integrate ICT into daily tasks and long-term learning strategies.

By the end of the module, students will be able to discuss the role of digital information in today's world, utilize the internet for research and information sharing, integrate ICT across different learning areas, adapt to technological innovations, and apply ICT competencies to real-life situations both personally and professionally.
